Hearing: 5 March 2001

On 5 March 2001 Forum 18 held a hearing in Oslo on religious freedom, with special emphasis on the right to choose religion and registration systems.

At the hearing a major report was presented, examining international legal protection for freedom of religion and belief, together with detailed reports on the religious liberty situation in eight countries: China, India, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Greece, Israel and Palestine, Egypt and Nigeria.
